Monica is an arts writer and historian of rhetoric based in San Francisco.

Monica’s criticism, essays, and interviews related to art and aesthetics have recently appeared in Artforum, frieze, BOMB, The Believer, Art & Education, The Brooklyn Rail, Art21, Raw Vision, Art Papers, SFAQ, SFMOMA's Open Space, VICE's technology blog Motherboard, and 3 Quarks Daily.  She has written catalog essays for numerous institutions and galleries, including Bergen Kunsthall and Columbia College's A+D Gallery. 

Monica is an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program in Fine Arts at California College of the Arts, where she leads the MFA written thesis seminar. She is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Chicago and has been a Visiting Researcher at Berkeley's Department of Rhetoric and a Scholar in Residence at High Concept Labs.
