Monica is a writer and critic based in San Francisco.

Art writing: Monica’s criticism, essays, and interviews related to art and aesthetics have recently appeared in Artforum, frieze, MOMUS, The Believer, BOMB, Art & Education, The Brooklyn Rail, Art21, Performa Magazine, Raw Vision, Art Papers, SFAQ, SFMOMA's Open Space, Motherboard, and 3 Quarks Daily.  She has written catalog essays for numerous institutions and galleries, including Bergen Kunsthall and Columbia College's A+D Gallery. 

Monica is an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program in Fine Arts at California College of the Arts, where she leads the MFA written thesis seminar. She is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Chicago and has been a Visiting Researcher at Berkeley's Department of Rhetoric and a Scholar in Residence at High Concept Labs.
